Brian Hoffstadt is a partner in the Issues & Appeals Practice at Jones Day. He has taught Criminal Procedure as an adjunct professor at USC Law since 2005.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2007, Mr. Hoffstadt served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Central District of California for more than six years, where he prosecuted cases in the Major Frauds, Criminal Appeals, and the Cyber and Intellectual Property Crimes sections. Before that, Mr. Hoffstadt was senior counsel in the Office of Policy Development for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He also served as special counsel for the Federal Communications Commission. Mr. Hoffstadt clerked for The Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor, justice of the United States Supreme Court, and for The Honorable Cynthia Holcomb Hall, judge of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

A graduate of California State University, Cal Poly Pomona, Mr. Hoffstadt received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law. He has taught at The George Washington University School of Law and at Loyola School of Law, Los Angeles.
