Tami Lefko is associate director of LL.M. Legal Writing and Advocacy and an adjunct assistant professor of legal writing and advocacy at USC Law.
In 2003, Ms. Lefko started her own consulting business and has since written over 100 custom research memoranda for LRN, a Los Angeles-based legal research company where she was previously a manager of legal research. She has also authored numerous publications on a variety of topics, including “The Wild West Just got Tamer: Appeals Court Considers Use of Trademarks in Domain Names,” (The Computer Lawyer, 1999).
Ms. Lefko received her A.B. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was an executive editor of the Harvard Law Review.
Ms. Lefko previously practiced in the intellectual property litigation and transactional work groups of Irell & Manella LLP. She engaged in a variety of litigation and transactional work related to intellectual property, prosecuted trademark applications, counseled clients on Internet-related issues, and negotiated disputes related to Internet domain names. She has also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Haldane Robert Mayer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C., and to the Honorable Laughlin E. Waters of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Ms. Lefko also worked as a research attorney for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
