Brian Holman is an attorney-at-law and partner in the law firm Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP, resident in the firm’s office in Los Angeles. In private practice in California since 1980, Mr. Holman’s practice consists primarily of advising and representing private and institutional clients in commercial law transactions and disputes, in insolvency proceedings, and in out-of-court restructurings.

Mr. Holman has written numerous published articles concerning commercial law or bankruptcy topics, and he formerly served on the editorial board of the California Bankruptcy Journal. He has been a speaker at numerous educational programs concerning commercial law or bankruptcy matters. He is board certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification, and currently serves on that organization’s board of directors.

Mr. Holman received a B.S., summa cum laude, in business administration from the University of Southern California in 1977. He received a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1980. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, INSOL, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section. He is a member and former director of the Financial Lawyers Conference and of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum. He was admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California in 1980. Since that time, he also has been admitted to practice before all United States District Courts within California, before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. From time to time, Mr. Holman has been admitted to practice before other courts within the United States of America on a pro hac vice basis.
