Carlyle W. Hall Jr.’s practice includes project and infrastructure development, environment and land use, airports and energy. At USC Law, he is an adjunct professor teaching a course in land use law.

Mr. Hall has represented commercial, government and environmental interests. One of the state’s leading authorities on California environmental and land use law, he has played a role in some of Southern California’s major infrastructure and environmental issues and projects. He is also a cofounder of the Center for Law in the Public Interest, one of the first public interest law firms in Los Angeles. At the center, he specialized in land use and environmental cases, many of which went to the California Supreme Court. Mr. Hall continues to serve as chairman of the center.

Mr. Hall graduated with a B.A. from Yale College and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of Harvard Law Review. He serves on the board of People for Parks, a multi-cultural organization aimed at improving parks and open space in L.A. He also serves on the board of trustees of the Planning and Conservation League.
