Tara Borelli is a Staff Attorney based in the Western Regional Office of Lambda Legal. Borelli joined Lambda Legal in July 2006, bringing with her experience in both corporate law practice settings and in the nonprofit legal advocacy arena.

Borelli began her legal career as a litigation associate with Proskauer Rose LLP, a leading national law firm. She then honed her nonprofit legal advocacy skills as an attorney in the Los Angeles office of Break the Cycle, an organization dedicated to empowering youth to build lives and communities free from domestic and dating violence. At Break the Cycle, Borelli served as a legal advocate for some of the most vulnerable of our community — our youth. At Lambda Legal, Borelli’s relationship recognition work builds on her expertise in youth and family law. Borelli is also working in the field of immigration and asylum rights for LGBT people.

Most recently prior to joining Lambda Legal, Borelli was an Associate at the Seattle law firm of Newman & Newman. Borelli is a member of the State Bars of California and Washington.

Borelli received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of California, Davis, and her J. D. from Boalt Hall, the school of law at the University of California at Berkeley.
