From the USC Law Trojan Family

USC Law has a proud history of support for innovative and successful public interest, pro bono, and community service organizations and initiatives. Since 1987, the USC Law Public Interest Law Foundation has worked to provide summer and post-graduate public interest employment to law students and has administered a robust array of volunteer opportunities. Other law student groups, such as La Raza, Legal Aid Alternative Breaks Project, and Street Law have a long history of promoting equal justice and the common good.

The USC Law Clinical Program features several in-house clinics which focus on pro-bono assistance, including the Post-Conviction Justice Project, the Immigration Clinic, and the Children's Legal Issues Clinic. USC Law was also one of  the first law schools in the nation to have a Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).

USC Law has also historical ties with some of the most prominent and storied advocacy organizations in Los Angeles, including the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) and the Western Center on Law & Poverty (WCLP). With this history, it is no surprise that USC can boast about alumni who are leaders in public interest for their impressive record of pro bono service; have received prestigious public interest postgraduate fellowships, such as the Skadden Fellowship, the Irmas Fellowship, and the Fulbright Fellowship; and in general are examples of the best of the legal profession.

Moreover, apart from the activities of our accomplished Trojan alumni, USC Law's students, faculty, and staff are also active in public interest, pro bono, and community service work and serve as advocates for an expansive array of causes and issues.

Because we at USC Law believe in the importance of service to the community, the OPS highlights the achievements of members of the USC Law Community who have exemplified our shared responsibility to others by posting their profiles.
