Important Message to the Public
Please do not contact the Office of Public Service (OPS) for legal advice or representation. The OPS cannot provide legal advice to members of the public, except for the services provided through USC Law's specialized clinics.
Law students are not permitted under California law to do legal research or provide legal advice or other assistance directly to members of the public. Students working in USC Law legal clinics work under the supervision of USC Law faculty and the cases they work on belong to those USC Law faculty.
As a service to the public, some referrals to other potential sources of legal advice known to us are listed on this page. The public is invited to use this section of the website to attempt to find organizations that provide legal information or, in some cases, legal representation. Legal assistance for those who cannot afford a private attorney is very limited due to a lack of funding for the organizations that serve low-income people, so the organizations listed may not be able to help every eligible person. These referrals are not meant to be an endorsement of any organization or web site, or of any of the content of these sites.
