Nancy Cervantes (‘89) is long time public interest attorney specializing in the rights of workers. Cervantes' legal career includes developing the prototype for day laborer advocacy and programs across the nation, directing the Immigrant Workers' Rights project at Public Counsel, serving as in house counsel for the Justice for Janitors campaign, leading policy advocacy at the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of L.A., and working as the community organizing director for Los Angeles City Councilmember Jackie Goldberg. 

Cervantes spent the last 5 years as a Managing Attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services of L.A. County. She was honored with PILF’s Outstanding Graduate award in 1997 and with the Liberty Hill Founders’ Award in 1995. She was also profiled as an “alumni in public service” in the Spring 2006 USC Law Magazine. 

Cervantes joins the Office of Public Service for the Fall 2007 Semester as an adjunct externship professor.
